Police Seek Suspects In Hatboro Smoke Shop Armed Robbery

Hatboro police are asking the public to help identify two men suspected in an armed robbery at Hatboro Smoke Shop, 11 S. York Road in Montgomery County, shortly before 10:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, according to Hatboro Police Chief Mark Ruegg and reporting by 6abc and Glenside Local.

Police said two males dressed in all black with face coverings entered the shop around 10:25 p.m. An employee told them to remove their masks. Instead, one of the men displayed a firearm and demanded cash, Ruegg said.

The suspects took several hundred dollars and fled on foot, police said. Investigators tracked them west on Moreland Avenue for several blocks before losing sight of them.

Hatboro police released surveillance stills and are seeking public identification. Police say one suspect has a distinct tattoo on his left hand; the other has a design on the back of his sweatshirt. The men have not been publicly identified and are presumed innocent.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Dilks at 215-675-2832 or cdilks@hatboropolice.org.
