Police Investigating Suspicious Death Of Woman Found In Hunting Park Home

HUNTING PARK — Philadelphia police are investigating the suspicious death of a 48-year-old woman who was found dead inside a home in the city’s Hunting Park neighborhood on Thursday, according to 6abc and NBC10.

Officers were called to a residence on the 1200 block of West Erie Avenue around 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, after family members responded to a wellness check, 6abc reported, citing police.

Relatives entered the home and found the woman dead in a hospital bed, police said. Investigators said she had apparent injuries to her face and head.

She was last seen alive around 5 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

Police have not released the woman’s identity and have not said how she died, but they described her death as “suspicious,” NBC10 reported.

No arrests have been made, and the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death remain under investigation, police said.
