PHILADELPHIA — Thieves hit two food targets overnight Tuesday, stealing Black Angus beef ribs from a South Philadelphia trailer and a Krispy Kreme delivery truck in Frankford, police said, according to CBS Philadelphia and 6abc.
Beef ribs — South Philadelphia: Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, four masked men approached a 2026 Freightliner outside Ritter Foods on South 3rd Street, cut the hinges from the rear door of the trailer, and removed about half a pallet of Black Angus beef ribs, loading the meat into a dark-colored Ford F-150, police said via CBS Philadelphia. The suspects fled south on the 3300 block of South 3rd Street in the Ford, accompanied by a Jeep, police said. 6abc reported police were called to the block about 1:30 a.m. and that the truck driver was not inside the rig when the theft happened.
Krispy Kreme truck — Frankford: Hours later, just before about 5:30 a.m., thieves stole a Krispy Kreme delivery truck while the driver was making a stop at a Royal Farms on the 2500 block of Church Street in Frankford, 6abc reported.
