Villanova University is investigating after a student was raped at a residence hall on Saturday, Aug. 29, the school’s police chief confirmed.
Associate Vice President of Public Safety and Police Chief David G. Tedjeske said in a message that the victim, a Villanova student, told officials she was raped by a man she knew. Tedjeske said the man does not attend the university.
The school has not released more details out of respect for the victim’s privacy. NBC10 said it asked campus police and the Delaware County District Attorney whether anyone has been arrested or charged and had not received a response.
A Villanova federal report filed in 2025 listed three reported on-campus rapes in 2024.
Chief Tedjeske urged anyone who witnessed concerning behavior to call the school’s public safety emergency line at 610-519-4444.
The National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline is 800-656-4673. The Delaware County Victim Assistance Center can be reached at 610-566-4342.
