BENSALEM — Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced charges against 12 people in an alleged statewide ring that sold high-potency THC products — including edibles, vapes, and pre-rolls — through convenience stores and smoke shops “under the guise that they were legal,” according to The Philadelphia Inquirer, LevittownNow, KYW Newsradio, and WFMZ.
Investigators traced about $18.7 million to alleged illegal proceeds, Sunday said. Authorities said three warehouse hubs served as distribution centers, including a site on American Drive in Bensalem Township, along with locations in Pittston Borough in Luzerne County and Plum Borough in Allegheny County. Roughly 150,000 items were seized from the warehouses, Sunday said.
Local defendants named in reporting include Dharmeshkumar Patel and Ketankumar Patel of Bensalem Township, and Roshniben Patel and Ankitkumar Patel of Huntingdon Valley in Montgomery County. The full list of people charged, as released by authorities, also includes Albina Kumar, Duttkumar Patel, Madhav Patel, Nirav Patel, Palak Patel, Divyesh Patel, Niravkumar Vora, and Mitul Patel.
The 12 defendants face charges including corrupt organizations and dealing in proceeds of illegal activity, and many also face felony drug trafficking charges, authorities said. All of those charged are presumed innocent.
Sunday highlighted candy-style packaging that authorities said appeared aimed at children and pointed to concerns about youth THC poisonings. The announcement was made about Sept. 14, 2026, with additional coverage through Sept. 16. Bucks County and Bristol Township investigators were among the agencies that assisted, LevittownNow reported.
