Man, Woman Hospitalized After E-Bike Crash in Northeast Philly, Police Say

A man and a woman were hospitalized after an e-bike ran a red light in Northeast Philadelphia and crashed into a car, police say.

The crash happened about 12:13 a.m. Wednesday at Cottman and Algon avenues, according to NBC10 Philadelphia. Police said the e-bike, driven by the man who was injured, disregarded a red light and struck the rear of a silver 2013 Toyota headed east on Cottman Avenue.

A man in his 30s was in critical condition, and a 27-year-old woman who was also on the e-bike was stable at a local hospital, police said. The 34-year-old woman driving the Toyota was not hurt.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have not identified the riders or announced charges.
