Thankfully, there were no reported injuries to the involved Lower Merion Police Officers.
The story of Francis Collier being charged with this crime just became public late last night.
Officials say Lower Merion police were on patrol around 3:45 am when they spotted a vehicle on the unit block of Old Lancaster Road belonging to 38 yr old Francis Connell Collier. When police confronted collier, he allegedly started to fire shots at the officers. The LMPD fired back, killing the shooter.
