Off-Duty Philadelphia Police Officer Shoots 15-year-old Armed Carjacker

An Off-Duty Philadelphia Police Officer shot an armed offender who carjacked him. This happened early this morning on the 5600 block of Pentridge St in Philadelphia. Police say the offender in this case is just 15-years-old.

The teen aged armed carjacker did initially successfully take the officers 2020 Toyota Highlander but was shot in the hand by the officers. The offender fled in the vehicle but crashed it at 5900 Delancey. Police and firefighters found the vehicle after it had been set on fire. The gunmen then went to Penn Presbyterian Hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound. This is when police took the male offender into custody. The off-duty police officer was unharmed.
