Man Shot and Killed Near SEPTA Station in North Philly; Arrest Made

A man was fatally shot today near the North Philadelphia SEPTA station Broad Street Line. The incident occurred around 3:00pm on the 2700 block of N Broad Street in the Glenwood section of the city. In a press release to PhillyCrimeUpdate.com, Philadelphia Police say the victim was shot as many as 13 times and was pronounced deceased at Temple Hospital.

Police Officers responded quickly to the scene and were able to track the suspect fleeing the scene to the area of 18th and Lehigh. Officers took a person of interest into custody. The main was detained for investigation at the PPD Homicide Unit. At the time of the press release, investigators had not been able to identify the victim and listed him as John Doe. No word on motive.
