Late last night a man fired his gun 15 times into a Philly bar that ended up killing one innocent bystander. The shooting occurred at 2417 Welsh Road in the northeast at “Philly Bar & Restaurant”. Police say that a man was angry over not being able to play pool at the bar. The bouncer on-duty eventually had to physically remove the shooter from the bar. About an hour after his removal, the man opened fire on the front of the bar. Police say the man fired at least 15 times into a bar full of people.
One of those bullets struck a female victim in the head. She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced deceased around 4am. The victim has now been identified as 21-year-old Jailene Holton of Northeast Philadelphia. Jailene’s family tells reporters that she was the designated driver for her friends last night and that she never goes out because she is always busy working at a local Target.
Authorities say that Jailene was all the way towards the back of the bar when the shots were fired, but a stray bullet came through the front glass and struck her in the head. Police do not believe that the shooter knew Jailene but that he just randomly opened fire because he was angry with the bouncer. Police have not made any arrests and have no released any suspect information.
