Philadelphia has yet another strange case that we are working exclusively here at PhillyCrimeUpdate.com

The local main stream media has not touched this one and it may be because the details are unusually hard to acquire. We first learned of the Laylo shooting after our readers sent us articles from CNN Philippines and tweets from Consul General of the Philippines Elmer Cato.
We have new developments acquired exclusively by PhillyCrimeUpdate that the shooting occurred Saturday June 18th just after 4am at S 38th Street and University Ave on University of Pennsylvania’s campus.
The shooting occurred just after John Laylo and his mother left their hotel and entered an Uber to go to Philadelphia International Airport to return to the Philippines.
Police sources tell us a gunmen in a black dodge approached the rear of the Uber and opened fire, critically striking Laylo in the head. Police officers in the area heard the gunshots and responded to the scene. University of Pennsylvania Police Officers transported Laylo to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he is in extremely critical condition. Laylo’s sister tells PhillyCrimeUpdate that he is on life support but does has some brain function. Laylo’s mother has minor injuries from broken glass shards.
We reached out to Philadelphia Police Department for comment but that request has been unanswered. We talked briefly with Consul General Elmer Cato who told us that he is at the hospital with the family for support.
