The Philadelphia Police Department just released a statement today that a dead body was found burned in the 14th district. The body was found somewhere on the 200 block of E Potter Street. Police did not release the identity of the victim but did say the person found was a 31-year-old man. Philadelphia Fire Department Medic 10 responded to the scene and officially pronounced the victim deceased at around 1:45pm.

Authorities said the male victim was found in the rear of the property and that he was possibly shot and then set on fire. The medical examiners office will have to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Police did not find any weapons and did not provide information on suspects or motive.
