Two Police officers have been shot tonight in Philadelphia at the 4th of July concert and fireworks show on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The shooting occurred around 9:47pm in the area of 2500 Spring Garden Street near the Philadelphia Art Museum. 1 Philadelphia Police Officer sustained a graze wound to the hear and 1 Montgomery county PA police officer, assigned to the bomb squad, sustained a gun shot wound to his right shoulder.
Both police officers were transported to Jefferson Hospital and placed into stable condition. The gunshots going off in the area where thousands of people amassed for the annual concert sent the crowd into a panic. Police have not yet addressed the media but there have not been any reports of any additional gunshot victims or injuries in relation to this incident. There is no information on any suspects.
